TL; DR
  • Samsung launches the Galaxy A08 in India for ₹18,499 with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
  • It packs a 6,000mAh battery, a 90Hz display, and a 50MP main camera.
  • Samsung promises six OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Budget phones usually skimp on software support. However, Samsung’s latest Galaxy A08 4G, now on sale in India at ₹18,499, does exactly the opposite. This entry-level smartphone promises six years of OS updates, the most in its segment.

Samsung Galaxy A08 4G: Pricing & Availability

The Galaxy A08 4G is available in only one variant: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. It costs ₹18,499, and the memory crisis is to blame. You can choose from three color options: Dark Blue, Silver, and Green. You can buy it at Samsung’s Exclusive Stores, partner stores, Samsung.com, and other online platforms.

Samsung also offers zero-interest EMI for up to six months on bank cards, or up to nine months through NBFC partners.

Samsung Galaxy A08 4G: Key Features & Specifications

First, the phone features a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. Gorilla Glass 5 protects the front, while a glass fiber-reinforced polymer covers the back panel. Furthermore, the phone also features IP64 dust and splash resistance.

Under the hood, the handset runs on the MediaTek Helio G99+, built on a 6nm process. Cameras are modest: a 50MP primary shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter. However, they should get the daily job done. On software, it ships with One UI 9, Circle to Search 3.0, and support for Gemini or Perplexity.

Storage expands up to 2TB via a microSD card. All of this fits in an 8mm body that weighs 197 grams, making it one of the slimmer, lighter phones in the segment. I like the update promise. However, the overall specifications suggest this is best suited for call-and-text customers.
