Samsung to come up with Galaxy Ring & Galaxy AR Glasses soon: Checkout details here

When Samsung held its first Unpacked Event of 2023, the brand shared its vision of working on extended reality devices. Although nothing concrete was revealed about what those devices can be, the latest trademarks filed by the brand hint towards the first product being AR Glasses and the 2nd one is a Smart Ring. If the latest patent requests by Samsung are to be considered, then these Glasses and Ring will be the new additions to its range of wearables by Samsung. This means the brand will not only make smartwatches and earbuds but also rings and glasses.

The Galaxy Glasses could also be the final name of Samsung’s upcoming XR (extended reality/mixed reality) headset that was teased on February 1 during Unpacked Event. Currently, during all this commotion around the MWC, Samsung has reportedly filed for 2 new trademarks at Korea’s patent and trademark office- KIPRIS. According to a leading website called ‘Wearable’, one of these trademarks is for a Galaxy Ring and the other one is for Galaxy Glasses.

Earlier too, Samsung tried to make a smart ring as the brand filed a patent for a smart ring in 2015. This ring allowed one to control their phone as well as smart home devices. However, the recent trademark for Galaxy Ring describes the device as a ‘smart device for measuring health indicators and/or sleep in the form of a ring.” Not much else is known about it. Back in October 2022, reports from Korea claimed that Samsung is working on a smart ring that will monitor the wearer’s health and activities. This one could be it.

As for the Galaxy Glasses, they have been tagged under the section “headset for virtual reality experience”, “headset for augmented reality experience”, “smart glasses”, “smartphone” and “headphone”. The classifications suggest that the Galaxy Glasses have built-in smartphone-like capabilities and headphones and might be able to give virtual and augmented reality experiences.

Although Samsung hasn’t revealed when it will release these products, since the company has already teased XR experiences at Unpacked Event, chances are high that the glasses will hit the markets before the Galaxy Ring.
