TL; DR
  • Samsung has officially begun teasing its upcoming foldables with the tagline “New Shape. New Joy.”
  • The teasers strongly hint at the arrival of a wider book-style foldable, expected to launch as the Galaxy Z Fold8.
  • Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables on July 22: the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8.

Samsung has officially kicked off its teaser campaign for the upcoming Galaxy Z series, and the company seems to be putting all the spotlight on one device in particular: the Galaxy Z Fold8.

So far, Samsung has shared six teaser videos across its Instagram and YouTube channels, and all of them appear to hint at the new wider foldable form factor that has been rumored for months.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Design Officially Confirmed

The teasers carry the tagline “New Shape. New Joy.” and repeatedly showcase a large rectangular shape transforming into a much boxier and wider shape. While Samsung never directly reveals the device, the animations strongly suggest that the company is teasing the Galaxy Z Fold8’s wider design.

Interestingly, none of the teasers focus on the clamshell form factor or the Ultra model. Samsung’s entire campaign so far revolves around this new shape, making it fairly clear that the wider Fold8 will be one of the biggest highlights at this year’s Unpacked event.
