After the outbreak of the green line issues on Samsung devices, the company has been mum about replacements or addressing the issue. However, the issue has started reappearing on the Galaxy S21 and S22 series devices, as reported by users on X. The good news is that Samsung is now offering free replacements to affected users.
The news comes from an X (Twitter) user who shared screenshots of him chatting with Samsung support regarding the replacement. The support chat mentioned that Samsung is offering a free one-time screen replacement within three years from the date of purchase.
So, even if you have a phone that’s out of warranty, you could get a free replacement. The condition is that your device with the green line issue must not have any signs of physical or water damage.
Also, you must apply for the one-time screen replacement by booking an appointment at your Samsung service center before 30th April 2024. This will give you a one-time free OCTA assembly, battery, and Rework Kit replacement.
Here is a list of all the eligible models for this program:
- Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra
- Galaxy Note 20 / Note 20 Ultra
- Galaxy S21 / S21+ / S21 Ultra
- Galaxy S21 Ultra

Unfortunately, not all the affected devices are covered in the program. Popular Samsung devices such as the Galaxy S21 FE, S20 FE, S22, and S22+ are still missing from the list.
The green line remains one of the most widespread issues with smartphones. Companies like OnePlus have resolved the problem by offering free coupons and upgrades, so it’s encouraging to see a giant like Samsung follow suit.

However, there is still room for improvement, as budget and mid-range devices are also affected by this issue without free replacement options. We hope that Samsung will openly acknowledge the issue and address it in as many devices as possible.
