TL; DR
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro Max leak reveals dual 200MP cameras: a LOFIC primary and a 3x periscope telephoto.
  • The periscope supports 15cm macro photography, significantly closer than the 17 Pro Max’s 30cm.
  • September 2026 China launch is expected, with India availability likely one to two months later.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is one of the company’s most ambitious camera-focused smartphones ever. It features a triple 50MP camera array, with a 50MP (f/2.6) sensor paired with a periscope telephoto lens that provides 5x optical zoom, one of the highest optical zoom levels on any Android flagship.

However, Xiaomi might be planning something even more compelling. According to Digital Chat Station, a reliable Chinese tipster, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could ship with a dual 200MP camera system. Yes, you read that right!

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Leaked Camera Specifications

The primary camera on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could use a 200MP sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches. It is said to be built on a new-generation LOFIC architecture.

LOFIC stands for Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor. It is a new sensor design that handles excessive light at the pixel level, preventing any overexposure in high-contrast pictures.

In practical terms, LOFIC sensors result in better dynamic range and less blown-out highlights when shooting in bright sunlight or at events with harsh artificial lighting.

The second 200MP (f/2.4) camera may be a periscope telephoto unit that provides 3x optical zoom, paired with a 1/1.56-inch sensor. This particular sensor could also support macro photography from as close as 15cm, up from Xiaomi 17 Pro Max’s 30cm.

Other than the impressive yet rumored camera specifications, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could come with a 6.9-inch LIP OLED display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, and an 8,500 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Pricing & Availability

It is important to mention here that Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed any of these details yet. Based on the brand’s historical release cadence, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could debut in China by September 2026, with an Indian launch typically following about a couple of months later.

However, Xiaomi didn’t launch the 17 Pro and the 17 Pro Max variants in India, something to keep in mind.
