Quick Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch (NP940XJG-KG6IN) comes with an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, Intel Arc B390 graphics, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD, all in a slim 1.24 kg chassis that’s just 11.6mm thick. Its 2880×1800 Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen is one of the best you can get on a laptop.

The battery easily lasts all day, gaming is impressive even without a separate GPU, and the build quality is excellent. The keyboard is still a weak spot, and the ₹2,91,190 price makes it a premium choice. Still, for professionals who need top performance in a portable package, this is one of the best Windows ultrabooks of 2026.

Buy it if:

  • You want the best 14-inch display on Windows; the 2880×1800 120Hz AMOLED is outstanding.
  • Portability matters to you; 1.24 kg is truly light enough to take anywhere.
  • You want AAA gaming on a thin laptop; Arc B390 with XeSS 3 makes this possible (KG6IN only)
  • You work in the Windows ecosystem and need the Copilot+ AI feature.
  • You worry about battery life; this laptop offers 13–17 hours of real-world productivity.
  • Samsung’s India-wide network of 6,000+ service centers gives you confidence in its after-sales support.

Skip it if:

  • If budget is your main concern, ₹2,91,190 is hard to justify compared to the MacBook Air M5 at ₹1,29,900
  • If you type a lot every day, the shallow keyboard will likely frustrate you.
  • If you take photos or videos and need an SD card slot, this laptop does not have one.
  • If you are sensitive to screen flicker, the 240 Hz PWM dimming may cause eye strain.
  • If you want maximum performance rather than portability, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra offers more raw power.
  • If macOS works for you, the MacBook Air M5 remains more efficient and significantly cheaper

The 14-inch laptop is the hardest category to get right. It has to be genuinely compact and light enough to carry everywhere, yet powerful enough to justify its price over a 13-inch budget option. For years, Apple’s MacBook Air owned this space without serious Windows competition. The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch (NP940XJG-KG6IN) is the most credible challenge yet.

Released on March 27, 2026, this is the top-tier 14-inch Galaxy Book6 Pro, the one with the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H and Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. It weighs 1.24 kg and is 11.6mm thin. At ₹2,91,190, it costs about ₹1.6 lakh more than a MacBook Air M5. That gap demands justification.

After four weeks of daily use in New Delhi’s pre-summer heat, in air-conditioned co-working spaces, on overnight trains, the Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch justified itself more often than I expected. This is a machine that surprises you. And not in a for a Windows laptop way. In an absolute way.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro Performance Review: The X7 358H and Arc B390 are a formidable pairing

The Core Ultra X7 358H shows Panther Lake at its best in this size. This 16-core chip can reach high boost speeds, and in daily use with many browser tabs, document editing, Figma sessions, and video calls, it always felt fast. Samsung’s internal tests show CPU performance is 1.6 times better than the Galaxy Book5 Pro 14-inch (tested with Cinebench 2024 MT), and GPU performance is 1.7 times better (Time Spy Graphics Score). These aren’t just marketing claims—I noticed the difference myself.

I tested this laptop in Delhi during peak pre-summer heat (38–42°C ambient). The improved thermal system managed Indian summer conditions better than expected. Performance stayed steady in air conditioning, but in direct heat, the fans spin up more. The bottom of the laptop gets warm under load, so it’s best to use it on a hard surface rather than on your lap during long gaming or video editing sessions. This is the real.

The thermal system, revised for this generation with a heat-pipe design that delivers 26% faster heat dissipation than the previous 14-inch model, keeps the chassis manageable under sustained loads. Under brief burst workloads such as video export and large-file compression, performance is excellent. Under prolonged heavy CPU loads, the chip does throttle to maintain thermals, which is expected behavior for a machine this thin. It’s a trade-off that the 1.24 kg weight makes worthwhile. It reached a peak temperature of 95°C but settled at an average of 80°C. During out testing, we noted an average power draw of 27W in its “Performance” mode while keeping a boost clock of 4.5GHz.

The Galaxy Book6 Pro X7 358H is the fastest Windows ultrabook in this comparison for real-world system responsiveness (CrossMark: 2,125 vs. ZenBook S16’s 1,648). Multi-core CPU performance is effectively tied across all premium Intel Panther Lake and Apple M5 laptops. In Blender benchmarks, the Book6 Pro scored around 1290, with similar results on battery and charging.

It scored well in PCMark 10 Productivity (12,161) and Digital Content Creation (13,027). On PugetBench tests, it easily handles Photoshop (scoring 8,131 charging / 8,114 on battery) and can comfortably manage 4–5 layer edits in Premiere Pro (4,409 charging / 4,267 on battery). Interestingly, performance in DaVinci Resolve stayed the same regardless of whether the laptop was plugged in or not.

In Blender, it scored around 1,300. Surprisingly, in the Geekbench AI BMW Render GPU test, the laptop was actually 37% faster on battery power (22.57 seconds) compared to when charging (36.02 seconds). When running local AI models via LM Studio, it handled DeepSeek R1 (8B) in about 1 minute and 30 seconds, and Qwen Coder 30B in roughly 35 seconds, proving it can handle light-to-mid-level local AI tasks

The Apple MacBook Air M5 is the only machine that clearly outscores the Galaxy Book6 Pro in CrossMark (2,356), a reflection of Apple’s silicon efficiency advantage. For Windows-only workflows, the X7 model leads the field.

I tested this laptop in Delhi during peak pre-summer heat (38–42°C). The improved thermal system managed the Indian summer better than I expected. Performance stayed steady in air conditioning, but in direct heat, the fans spin up more. The bottom gets warm under load, so it’s best to use it on a hard surface, not your lap, during long gaming or video editing sessions.

It’s important to be clear: the gaming performance of this laptop depends on the model you choose. The KG6IN, which is the model reviewed here, has Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics. The less expensive KG3IN and KG4IN use a much slower Intel Graphics iGPU that isn’t suitable for gaming. So when I say the Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch is good for gaming, I’m talking only about this specific model.el only.

“I ran Cyberpunk 2077 on ‘Ray Tracing: Ultra’ with XeSS and Frame Generation enabled, on a 14-inch ultrabook weighing 1.24 kg. It was playable. That shouldn’t be possible.”

With Intel’s XeSS Super Resolution 2.0 and Frame Generation active, the Arc B390 hit approximately 83 FPS in Battlefield 6, around 95 FPS in Arc Raiders, roughly 77–82 FPS in Marvel Rivals, and a sustained 60 FPS in Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. Cyberpunk 2077 at the Ray Tracing Ultra preset, the most demanding configuration I threw at it, stayed playable throughout. For a machine you can slip into a backpack, these are extraordinary numbers.

Having said that, the gaming on a full battery will drain it in about two hours. The laptop gets noticeably warm, though not dangerously so. XeSS and Frame Generation help a lot; without AI upscaling, native performance is lower. Still, the overall gaming experience is impressive.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro Display Review: Its Bright & Vivid

The 14-inch 2880×1800 Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel is, without qualification, the best display I have used on any 14-inch Windows laptop. The numbers: 500 nits sustained in SDR, up to 1,000 nits peak in HDR, true black at 0.0005 nits, adaptive refresh from 30 to 120Hz. The display also carries Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC composite that Samsung says reduces front-surface reflection by 75% versus standard glass and increases contrast ratio by 50% at the same brightness level.

That anti-reflection coating matters enormously in India. The 1,000-nit HDR peak means you can use this laptop near windows and in bright indoor environments without retreating to a dark corner. Vision Booster, Samsung’s ambient-aware tone mapping, helps further when HDR is disabled. It is still a glossy panel; direct outdoor sunlight in a Delhi summer will challenge it. But compared to the Galaxy Book5 Pro 14-inch, the difference in real-world usability outdoors is substantial.

The 30–120Hz adaptive refresh rate is practically implemented. At 30Hz for static documents, the battery savings are measurable. Samsung says the panel power reduction is around 40% on the 14-inch compared to fixed 120Hz. At 120Hz for scrolling and gaming, the fluidity is immediately apparent. The touchscreen functionality is accurate and genuinely useful for quick navigation and annotation in meetings.

For photo and video editing, the display’s colour accuracy is excellent out of the box calibrated to P3 and sRGB profiles. I found no need for manual calibration for professional creative work.

The PWM flickering disclosure

This display uses Pulse-Width Modulation at 240 Hz to control brightness across all brightness levels. The majority of users will never notice or be affected. For users with documented photosensitivity to screen flicker some people who experience migraines, eye strain, or headaches from OLED displays this is a real consideration. Please evaluate the display in person at a Samsung Experience Store or retail partner before purchasing. This is not a theoretical caveat; it is a documented characteristic of this panel technology.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro Design and Build Review: The lightest premium laptop I've carried

The Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch weighs just 1.24 kg and is only 11.6mm thick, with a full aluminium body. Take a moment to let that sink in. This laptop matches the MacBook Air M5 in weight, is slimmer than most plastic budget laptops, and feels more premium than almost anything else at this price for a Windows device.

It comes in Gray and Silver, and both finishes resist fingerprints. The Samsung logo sits in the center of the lid, and the two-tone keyboard and slim bezels give it a unique look. It’s minimalist, but not dull. The hinge moves smoothly, the lid flexes minimally, and the base feels sturdy.

The haptic touchpad senses pressure across the whole surface and has smart palm rejection, making it one of the best on any Windows laptop. The fingerprint reader in the power button is quick and dependable. Unfortunately, the keyboard is still the weakest part of the design. The keys are shallow and require a heavy press, missing the satisfying feel of the MacBook Air, Lenovo ThinkPad, or HP’s premium keyboards. There’s no numpad, which stands out at this price. You get used to it, but it’s always noticeable.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro Battery Review: Truely impressive

Samsung says the 67.18 Wh battery can last up to 30 hours of local video playback, measured at 150 nits with Wi-Fi off. In real-world use, I consistently got 13 to 17 hours of mixed tasks, including document work, video calls, and heavy web browsing, at adaptive brightness. The adaptive 30-to-120Hz panel helps a lot Samsung claims the 14-inch model uses up to 40% less power at lower refresh rates.

In India, where power cuts, unreliable outlets in co-working spaces, and airport layovers are common, having over 14 hours of real productivity is a big relief. The 65W USB-C charger can recharge the battery to about 38% in 30 minutes, which is enough to get you through a lunch break. Gaming will drain the 67.18 Wh battery in about two hours, which is normal for this type of laptop.

To be fair, the MacBook Air M5 14-inch is slightly better in battery efficiency, and the Asus Zenbook S16 is also competitive. Apple’s silicon is still more efficient. But the Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch has enough battery life to remove charging worries for most Indian workdays, and that’s what really counts.

Review Verdict: Should You Buy the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro?

Smartprix Rating (⭐): 8.5/10

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch (NP940XJG-KG6IN) stands out as the most impressive 14-inch Windows ultrabook of 2026. Its  specs Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, Intel Arc B390, 32GB LPDDR5X, 2880×1800 Dynamic AMOLED 2X, and 1.24 kg, make for a well-designed, powerful package. Gaming on an integrated GPU has never been this good in such a thin and light laptop. The display is the best you’ll find on any 14-inch Windows laptop, and the battery really does last all day. The ₹2,91,190 price means you’ll need to think carefully about your budget, and the keyboard is still a letdown at this cost. But if you want the best compact Windows ultrabook in India right now, this is it.
