Samsung Galaxy S24 benchmark scores have surfaced online and it seems to be a formidable contender against Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro, featuring the A17 Pro chip.

The latest scores from Geekbench listings for the Korean versions of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and its base model have impressed tech enthusiasts. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to run on Qualcomm Inc.’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has garnered an impressive score of 2,214 in single-core performance and 6,744 in multi-core tests. In comparison, Apple’s flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max has secured scores of 2,935 and 7,207, respectively, displaying only a slight numerical advantage.

However, the anticipated real-world performance difference between the two devices may be minimal. The Galaxy S24 has showcased significant improvements compared to its predecessor, scoring 2,051 in single-core tests and 6,204 in multi-core tests.

While the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to use the same chipset worldwide, there is speculation that certain European Galaxy S23 models could be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chips, perceived as less potent than their Qualcomm counterparts.

Samsung is setting its sights on a significant milestone with the Galaxy S24 series, aiming to ship 35 million units in 2024, a 10% increase from the 31 million units sold of the Galaxy S23.

This ambitious goal underscores the company’s commitment to incorporating AI technology, including generative AI features akin to ChatGPT.

The Galaxy S24 series is slated for an early launch on January 17 in the US, underlining Samsung’s eagerness to go head-to-head with Apple’s iPhone 15 series.

The integration of AI technology, the potential increase in shipment numbers, and the move to premium materials like titanium frames all reflect Samsung’s assertive strategy to claim a larger share of the market.
