Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S24, could still be stuck with 8GB of RAM in 2024. Earlier this year, the South Korean tech giant released the Galaxy S23 series with three models. Of these, the vanilla Galaxy S23 came with 8GB of RAM across all the storage models, including 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. However, at the same time, other manufacturers like OnePlus and iQoo give users a choice to get the variant with desired RAM and storage.

Galaxy S24’s Korean Version Carries The Modul Number SM-S921N

Per an X (formerly known as Twitter) user who goes by the username @Tech_Reve, the vanilla Galaxy S24 could ship with 8GB of RAM. The user cites the Geekbench listing of the smartphone’s Korean version, with the model number SM-S921N. In the listing, we can see that the memory size is listed as 6.83GB. While an 8GB memory variant isn’t a problem, Samsung doesn’t provide the vanilla Galaxy S series phone with higher RAM, even on the higher storage variants.

Geekbench Listing Reveals Exynos 2400’s Performance Scores

The Geekbench listing also reveals the benchmark score of the upcoming Exynos processor on the Galaxy S24. In the screenshot of the listing, Galaxy S24 carries a processor with its primary core at 3.21GHz, with which it scores 2,051 points in the single-core score and 6,204 points in the multi-core performance score. This could be the Exynos 2400 SoC we’ve been hearing about.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, on the other hand, scores over 2,500 points in the single-core and over 7,200 points in the multi-core Geekbench test. This indicates that the Exynos 2400 SoC isn’t nearly as powerful as the Snapdragon chip. Nonetheless, most reports suggest that the vanilla Galaxy S24 and the S24 Plus will ship without the Snapdragon chip, which will be reserved for the top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 To Ditch 128GB Storage Variant In Korea

X user also notes that the Galaxy S24’s Korean version won’t be available in the 128GB storage variant. Instead, the base model will feature 256GB, at least in the native market. However, whether the Indian or the international units will also ship with the same storage is not known at the moment. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to roll out in January 2024.
