There were hopes that the company would also introduce the next-generation wearable, the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2, but this did not occur. Consequently, we will have to wait a bit longer for our initial glimpse of the second-generation Smart Ring. However, numerous leaks and rumors offer insights into its potential design and features. In this overview, we will discuss what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2.

Rumors from a Korean publication suggested that the next-generation Galaxy Ring will have various design improvements. These will include a thinner profile and improved sizing options. Currently, the Galaxy Ring’s sizing is a bit tedious, so advancements on this front would be nice. Leaks also suggest that sizing will expand with the introduction of two new sizes 14 and 15. If the brand can manage to add one more size option on the smaller end, the new Galaxy Ring 2 will match the Oura Ring (available in sizes 4 to 15). This change will lead to a better fit for wearers making it more versatile.

Samsung Galaxy Ring 2: Health Features

Along with new ring sizes, Samsung has also revealed some new cool holistic features coming to the device via firmware. These tools will debut in the current Galaxy Ring but could be expanded further when the new one launches. One of these features is a sleep environment report which will offer users tips on how to improve their room conditions for optimal rest. It will consider factors like room temperature, humidity, light intensity, and air quality.

A new sleep guidance tool will recommend the best times to hit the day and wake up based on lifestyle and health factors. Future Smart Rings will offer a mindfulness tracker to keep tabs on stress and mood while monitoring breathing patterns. Samsung Galaxy Ring and Samsung Galaxy Watch will pair with the Galaxy Health app so anyone with a recent Galaxy wearable will be able to use them.

A new vascular load indicator will help wearers understand how their exercise and daily routine may be impacting their heart health with tips for reducing strain. One more tool is an antioxidant tracker to monitor beta carotene in the body to help users improve their nutrition through tailored meal plans and recipe suggestions.

Galaxy Ring already offers useful integration with compatible Galaxy phones, which includes a Double Pinch gesture that allows you to do things like remotely fire your camera’s shutter or silence your phone’s alarm.

Recent reports claim that the South Korean tech giant has submitted a new patent with the World Intellectual Property Organization which indicates a new smart ring might also manage other devices. The patent suggests that Samsung is working on expanding its smart ring capabilities. It includes descriptions and diagrams that showcase how the device can be used to wirelessly communicate with linked devices such as tablets or a laptop.  This means Galaxy Ring 2 might support seamless interaction across several screens.

The smart ring will be able to share content from one display to another. It will transform how consumers will manage their digital environments by allowing for more intuitive device control. The connected devices will use their cameras to detect the ring’s movement and convert it into a movement across a digital surface.

Possibilities are strong that Galaxy Ring 2 will come with enhancements in battery life too. According to Korean leakster Lanzuk, Galaxy Ring 2 will top its predecessor’s seven-day battery life rating. Oura Ring 4 offers an eight-day battery life and Samsung might surpass it to offer a nine-day battery life. It will be IP69 rated for better water resistance than its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy Ring 2: Pricing & Launch Timeline

Samsung first teased its Galaxy Ring in January 2024 followed by unveiling at MWC 2024. This year Galaxy Ring 2 was not shown off during the January Unpacked event, but it might launch alongside foldables in June or July 2025.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is priced at Rs. 38,999 in India and the next-generation smart ring will surely not cost less than its predecessor. It might cost the same or get a slight price hike, costing around Rs. 40,000.
