Shortly after the Galaxy J8 and Galaxy J6, Samsung went ahead and announced a couple more J-series phones, the Galaxy J3 (2018) and Galaxy J7 (2018), in the US. The South Korean tech giant hasn’t revealed their prices yet, nor has it disclosed complete specifications of the phones.
However, if we go by the official statement of Samsung, both Galaxy J3 (2018) and Galaxy J7 (2018) are going to be “affordable” phones. The handsets are the successors of Galaxy J3 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) launched last year.
Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) and J7 (2018) Specifications
The Galaxy J3 (2018) features an old-fashion 5-inch HD (720X1280p) display with 16:9 aspect ratio. For photography, the phone sports an 8-megapixel sensor on the back with f/1.9 aperture lens and LED flash. On the front, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens.
Samsung hasn’t stated the battery capacity on the Galaxy J3 (2018) but assures that phone has a “long-lasting” battery. The chipset employed and Android version running on the phone is not known either.
The Galaxy J8 (2018), on the other hand, flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The camera specifications of the phone include 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture lens and LED flash and 13-megapixel front camera sensor with f/1.9 aperture lens. Again, it is touted to come with a long-lasting battery.
“When it comes to smartphones, we know that one size doesn’t fit all. The Galaxy lineup is designed to give consumers the flexibility to choose the phone that best fits their needs,” said Justin Denison, senior vice president, Mobile Product Strategy and Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, on the product launch. “The J3 delivers high-quality features at a great price, and the J7 with its huge HD screen and amazing, advanced camera, is built for users who want more.”
