Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) Debuts With World’s First Quad Camera Setup

Samsung appears to be on a spree with launching phones involving multiple cameras on the rear. Recently the Samsung Galaxy A7 (review) sporting three cameras on the back was launched. Now Samsung is pushing the envelope by including four cameras on the back. As we broke the news first, Galaxy A9 Pro is the world’s first phone to feature 4 cameras on one side. This phone which is being referred to as Samsung A9 has been launched today in Kaula Lumpur.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Features

Samsung Galaxy A9 is equipped with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen. It runs on Snapdragon 660 Octa-core processor bolstered with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB with the help of a dedicated memory card slot. Samsung Galaxy A9 allows you to unlock your phone with face recognition and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Coming to the interesting part, the phone features four cameras on the rear of which the first one is the primary camera that is a 24MP(f/1.7 aperture) sensor, the second is an  8MP(f/2.4 aperture and 120 degrees ) ultra-wide sensor, the third one is a 10MP ( f/2.4 aperture )telephoto camera that provides 2X Optical Zoom, the last one is a 5MP (f/2.2 aperture) depth sensor with live focus. The camera setup certainly looks quite interesting on paper and we need to take a look at how this performs once it is released. On the front, it includes a 24MP selfie camera with features like Pro lighting.

The phone is powered by a battery of capacity 3800 mAh with fast charging support. The phone has a glass back panel which gives a 3D effect and comes in three colors: pink, blue and black. There is no word on the price of the device yet, but it will be available in the market from November.
