The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched another budget smartphone in its famous Redmi A series – Redmi A3. The smartphone is priced below Rs. 10,000. It offers a large 90Hz screen, runs on an octa-core processor, and ships in different RAM and storage variants. Here’s everything we know about the newly launched Redmi A3.

The smartphone has a water-drop notch and a relatively thicker chin. On the right frame, users get the power and volume buttons. On the back panel, a large circular camera island houses the two camera sensors and the flash module.

The Redmi A3 comes in three colors: Olive green, Midnight Black, and Lake Blue.

The handset comes with a 6.71-inch HD+ IPS display that supports 90Hz refresh rate. Protecting the screen is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, based on 12nm fabrication technology.

The processor runs alongside up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. Users can also expand the storage with up to 1TB microSD card. Out of the box, the handset runs on Android 13 Go Edition, a lighter version of the full-fledged Android operating system meant for entry-level smartphones.

Regarding optics, the Redmi A3 has an 8MP (f/2.0) primary camera, a secondary camera, and a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter. Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging. Smartphone connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS + GLONASS, and a USB-C port.

Additional features on the Redmi A3 include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and virtual RAM expansion up to 6GB. Moreover, the smartphone is an excellent offering in its segment.

The handset costs Rs. 7,299 for the variant with 3GB of RAM and 64GB. Then there’s the variant with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB storage variant that costs Rs. 8,299.

The variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs Rs. 9,299. All the models will be available to purchase from Flipkart, Mi.com, and other retail partner stores starting February 23, 2024.
