Oppo is presenting its take on the foldable future with a new unique trifold slider design. Meanwhile, the brand has also showcased a mini-ecosystem concept called Music Link, which is a “collection of devices centered around a pair of TWS earphones.” Basically, the buds conjoin to other gadgets like a smartwatch, AI speaker, portable charger, and wireless charger for interesting use cases. Oppo has partnered with Japanese design studio Nendo for developing both these concepts.

Here, take a look —

Oppo ‘Slide-Phone’

The ‘Slide Phone’ consists of three hinges and hence three foldable screens. In the complete folded state, the thing appears to be the size of a credit card.

Unfold once and you will come across its first 40mm screen displaying basic functions like notifications, call history, and music player controls.

A further unfold reveals the screen size which is around 80mm, ideal for selfies, as Oppo suggests. Of course, you can use it for other purposes too.

And lastly, the full unfurl exposes the screen in its entirety which can be used for everything from gaming, multi-tasking, or multi-media consumption.

In this design framework, the TWS earphones act as a symbiote as it attaches and forms a part of the host device. In the video below, you will see the buds move from regular TWS earphones to neckband form to bezels of a smartwatch, and much more. The concept is bonkers and intriguing, at the same time.

Needless to say, being concept products, they might not go past the prototype table to the production factory.
