Oppo R9s Plus May Become World’s First Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC Powered Phone

Oppo R9s Plus will be powered by a Qualcomm’s latest offering Snapdragon 653 chipset which company announced earlier in the day along with Snapdragon 427 and Snapdragon 626. Coincidently, the Oppo R9s Plus made its debut on AnTuTu benchmark database revealing the identity of this processor as Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC.

The Snapdragon 653 chipset is an upgraded variant of Snapdragon 652 chipset. The new chipset features advanced and faster LTE modems for up to five times better download and upload speeds. Qualcomm has also introduced its ClearSight technology for better support of dual-camera setup in smartphones.

As per the reports, the Oppo R9s Plus comes with Adreno 510 GPU for gaming and 6GB of RAM for better multitasking experience. It bears an extra-large 6-inch display with full HD resolution. It packs a 16-megapixel primary camera apart from a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. All those photos and all other data can be stored on 64GB of on-board storage. The smartphone is also expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It will be backed by a 3,010mAh battery which supports OPPO Super VOOC fast charging technology.

Oppo 9s Plus is likely to be accompanied by non-plus variant. As per the reports circling in tech corridor, the Oppo 9S will boast a 5.5-inch full HD display. Under the Hood, MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core chipset will be employed along with 4GB RAM and 64Gigs of on-board storage. For shutterbugs delight, Oppo R9 Plus houses a 13-megapixel camera at the back sensor and 16-megapixel camera at the front. The rear camera will be based on based on Sony IMX 398 sensor and will feature dual-core focus and f/1.7 aperture.  It is aided by a 2850mAh battery which supports VOOC flash Charge technology for fast charging.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone is expected to support dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other common option.
