TL; DR
  • HMD Vibe 2 5G goes on sale May 26 in India, starting at ₹10,999 on Flipkart exclusively.
  • The phone ships with Android 16 and Indus AI support for 22 Indian languages out of the box.
  • A 6,000mAh battery, IP64 rating, and 120Hz display round out a competitive budget package.

HMD has officially launched the Vibe 2 5G in India, as the successor to last year’s Vibe 5G, with a package that looks meaningfully more competitive. The sub-₹12,000 5G space (the entry-level segment) in India is crowded with strong offerings from multiple brands, all of which are fighting over the same first-time smartphone upgrade buyer.

HMD Vibe 2 5G: Pricing & Availability

The Vibe 2 5G is available in India in two storage configurations, the pricing of which is mentioned below.

HMD Vibe 2 5G

Those who get the phone on the first day of the sale can avail a discount of ₹1,500 with select bank cards or UPI transactions, which brings the effective starting price of the phone down to ₹9,499. Both the variants will be available exclusively via Flipkart from May 26, 2026.

Buyers can choose from three color options: Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink.

HMD Vibe 2 5G: Key Features

Out of the box, the Vibe 2 5G comes with a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which, I feel, is adequate for the price. Under the hood, the handset features the Unisoc T8200, which is built on a 6nm process, for handling the processing duties. It is a relatively new chip for the Indian market, competing against the Dimensity 6300 or Snapdragon 4s Gen 2.

The primary software advantage here is that the Vibe 2 boots up on Android 16. Furthermore, the company is also committing to provide two years of quarterly security updates, which could instill confidence among a buyer segment that typically gets very little post-launch software support.

For capturing pictures, the phone features a 50MP primary camera along with an 8MP selfie shooter on the front; nothing fancy, but sensors that take care of your daily needs. Powering the handset is a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging. It’s worth mentioning here that the phone comes with a charger in the box.

Rounding out the feature set is Indus AI with support for 22 Indian languages, along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
