OPPO’s latest flagships, F9 Pro and F9, have finally been launched in India, putting to rest numerous teasers and leaks related to both the phones.
Key specifications of these two phones include a 25MP selfie shooter with HDR capabilities, a new ‘waterdrop’ notch on the display, native Google Lens support in their smartphone’s camera app, AI Beauty Technology 2.1, and face unlock technology.
The launch event in Mumbai has notified major details related to both the phones, like launch offers, retailing date, and their price in India.

OPPO F9, OPPO F9 Pro Features
The only difference between both the phones lies in their RAM configuration. The OPPO F9 features 4GB RAM, while OPPO F9 Pro comes with 6GB RAM, both expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Both OPPO F9 and OPPO F9 pro include dual-SIM slots. The two phones will run Android 8.1 Oreo topped by Color OS 5.2 skin. Display specifications for OPPO F9, and OPPO F9 Pro will comprise a good 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340) LTPS TFT display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phones will house a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
For the camera specifications, a 16MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, along with a 2MP auxiliary sensor with f/2.4 aperture, plus single tone LED flashlight will feature on the back of both the phones. As for the front camera specs, both Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro will sport 25MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. OPPO is also touting slow motion video recording with 120fps up to 720p in both these phones. As for the front camera specifications, a 25MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and HDR capabilities is present.
Oppo F9 Pro’s AI camera allows better light delivery for taking photos in bokeh mode, as per the company’s claims. The smartphone comes loaded with AR stickers, AI scene recognition, and artistic portrait mode.
A 3,500mAh battery unit, supported by OPPO’s proprietary VOOC fast charging technology, which the company claims will deliver two hours of talk time in five minutes of charging. Keeping in mind its Indian customers, Oppo has designed its battery and charger to protect it from ‘voltage fluctuations’. The company also claims AI battery management in Oppo F9 Pro, for delivering better battery life.
Connectivity options on board include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board comprise an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, and a proximity sensor.

OPPO F9, OPPO F9 Pro price in India, launch offers
The two new phones are available in Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue, and Starry Purple colour options, with gradient pattern on the rear. The starting price for Oppo F9 is pegged at Rs. 19,990, while the Oppo F9 Pro is priced at Rs. 23,990. The Oppo F9 Pro will be available for purchase from Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm Mall, and selected offline stores, starting August 31. The company will begin taking Pre-orders starting today itself, exclusively on Flipkart. As for the Oppo F9, the company said its sale will go live in the country very soon.
