Oppo has officially unveiled its profusely leaked selfie expert, the F5, filling in the remaining few blanks in the hardware information. The new selfie phone sheds dual front cameras, embraces a trendy 18:9 display panel, and is less expensive than what we had anticipated.

Oppo F5 features
The 6-inch, 18:9 display has full HD+ resolution and is shielded by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. In spite of the wide display, the phone should be manageable (Read: more compact than what the display size suggests) because of minimal bezels surrounding the screen.
On the inside, the Oppo F5 is powered by one of the latest mid-range MediaTek chipset, the Helio P23. The 16nm process based chipset has 8 conventional Cortex-A53 cores arranged in two clusters that max at 2.3GHz and 1.6GHz. The Mali G71 GPU and a new modem, however, count as a significant upgrade.
The F5 will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM options with 32GB and 64GB internal storage, respectively. The software on the phone is Android Nougat based ColorOS 3.2.For photography, the F5 has 16MP rear camera with LED flash and wide f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, there is only one 20MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens (no dual cameras for wide-angle selfies this time).
And to bolster its selfie claims, Oppo has introduced A.I. beauty recognition technology that will understand your face contours and complexion in good lighting and use the info to aptly beautify images shot in low light or at odd angles.
Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, dual SIM support, MicroSD card support, fingerprint sensor, and a 3200mAh battery.
Oppo F5 India Price and Availability
Oppo F5 has gone official in the Philippines as of now, where the base variant costs roughly 20,000 INR. Oppo has already confirmed that it will launch F5 in India on November 2nd (next week), interestingly this is the same day when Xiaomi will launch its first selfie phone in India. The Oppo F5 will be available at offline and online stores soon after.
