Update October 13, 2017: Oppo F5 will launch in India on November 02

Oppo will soon join the 18:9 fray with the launch of its next perfect selfie phone, the Oppo F5. The Philippines launch for the phone one was officially confirmed last week, and now credible reports claim that the handset will arrive in India and a bunch of other South Asian markets on the same day. The official confirmation for the same should follow soon.

What is Oppo F5’s AI Beauty Recognition Technology?

Latest in the Oppo’s bag of selfie tricks is an AI technology for the front cameras. The A.I. Beauty recognition tech on Oppo F5 will be able to scan 200 spots and learn your individual facial feature. It will use the information to better enhance your selfies, even the ones captured in improper lighting or at odd angles. The AI will also keep getting better the more you use it.

The technology will also be able to differentiate between male and female, infants and adults.

Oppo F5 Rumored Hardware and Features

Other than that, the F5 is expected to include dual 16MP cameras on the front, presumably for shooting wide-angle selfies or groupies and a 20MP rear camera for primary photography. It’s rumored to sport a 6-inch full view FHD+ display and a semi-metal unibody design. As is evident from leaked renders, the fingerprint sensor will be present on the rear.

The handset is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. So far, we have already come across Red, Gold, and Rose Gold color options.

It will primarily compete against the likes of Vivo V7+ and Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro in India.
