Airtel 4G Smartphone Launched At ‘Effective Price’ of Rs. 1,399

Bharti Airtel, at last, has an answer to the Reliance JioPhone. India’s largest telecom operator has teamed up with Karbonn to launch 4G VoLTE enabled Karbonn A40 Indian. Customers will get Airtel 4G Smartphone by paying Rs. 2,899 upfront but the operator is bundling a few offers that taken down the effective cost to just Rs. 1,399.

How to get Airtel 4G phone Karbonn A40 Indian At Rs. 1,399?

Firstly, You pay Rs. 2,899 to the retailer when you buy this phone.Next, Airtel asks you to recharge with Rs. 169 plan which offers unlimited calling and 0.5GB data per day for 28 days. Once you actively complete 36 months with you will get Rs. 1,500 refund from Airtel. With this refund, your effective cost price comes down to Rs. 1,399.

If in case, you are not interested in Rs 169 plan, in that case, you will have to recharge worth Rs 3,000 within the first 18 months to get Rs 500, and if you further recharge worth in following 18 months as well you will get remaining Rs 1,000 cashback. Airtel will be processing the cashback amount to user’s Airtel Payments Bank account.

Karbonn A40 Indian vs Reliance Jio: Specifications

The Airtel 4G Smartphone features a 4-inch touch sensitive HD display. It comes with the 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It also supports microS card up to 32GB. The Karbon A40 Indian comes running on Android 7.0 Nougat. The dual sim phone supports all networks-2G/3G/4G, Bluetooth, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, and a micro USB port.

Reliance Jio JioPhone, on the other hand, features a 2.4inch QVGA TFT screen, powered by a 1GHz Dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM. It also supports microSD card up to 128GB. JioPhone also sports a 2MP rear camera, while the front shooter is 0.3MP. In terms of connectivity, JioPhone supports a nano sim, WIFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB 2.0 and NFC.

The biggest difference between these two phones is that JioPhone is a feature phone running on KaiOS whereas Airtel-Karbon phone is an Android-powered smartphone. With this Airtel smartphone, a user can use popular apps like WhatsApp and Facebook and also avail touchscreen experience. However, Jio  And in JioPhone, the KaiOS still in nascent stages, and there are not many applications supported as of now such as YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, MyAirtel, Airtel TV, and Wynk Music. etc.

JioPhone too has few things up its sleeves. It comes pre-loaded with Jio’s apps such as JioTV, JioCinema, which will certainly give it an edge. Moreover, Jio is also offering a steaming cable which will allow user connect JioPhone with idiot box to experience live TV.

Both of these smartphones support 22 Indic languages including Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and more.

Airtel – Karbonn A40 Indian smartphone will be available across all major retail stores across India. JioPhone, on the other hand, is being shipped to those six million users who made the book last time. Jio seems to be confident of completing delivery process before Diwali.
