OnePlus has been working on its first Foldable phone for a while now and things are now getting real as the brand has teased the name of its foldable via a Tweet. OnePlus took to its Twitter account and wrote-

“We OPEN when others FOLD”

This short cryptic tweet has confirmed that the name of the first OnePlus foldable will be OnePlus Open. Interestingly OnePlus chose the same day when Samsung announced its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 phones at an event in South Korea.

Some old reports speculated that the OnePlus foldable might be called the “OnePlus V Fold” but that hasn’t come out to be true.

OnePlus Open: Launch Date

The OnePlus Open smartphone is confirmed to launch in Q3, 2023. Some reports claim that the foldable will be launched on August 29 and sales will begin in September. If this timeline turns out to be true, then OnePlus will get some time until its annual number series, OnePlus 12 officially launches.

OnePlus Open: Renders

We at Smartprix shared some exclusive alleged renders of the OnePlus Open a few days ago. The renders are based on a prototype model wherein the standout feature is a prominent circular camera module on the back that houses 3 camera sensors and features Hasselblad branding.

The rear camera flash is in the left corner outside the camera island. There is an alert slider and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. The foldable has a leather back and a large external display with slim bezels. The external display includes a centrally aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

OnePlus Open: Expected Specs

The OnePlus Open is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. It is said to sport a 2K 120Hz AMOLED (LTPO) panel with a high refresh rate.

In terms of camera, the foldable might feature a 50MP main, an ultrawide, and a periscope lens at the back, and a 32MP camera at the front. One foldable is rumored to pack a 4800mAh battery under the hood with 100W SuperVOOC wired fast charging.
