Wait for Marshmallow update for OnePlus owners will soon be over. The popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer has posted tentative details about upcoming Marshmallow update on its official blog. As per the blog post, OnePlus One running on Cyanogen OS will be the first device from OnePlus bucket to get Android vs6.0 Marshmallow update. The company will be pushing it over-the-air in the first quarter of 2016.
Company will also be releasing a community build of OxygenOS for OnePlus One, which was offered by the manufacturer as an optional update for OnePlus One users. Company will also try to update OxygenOS community build if time permits.
OnePlus Two aka “the 2016 Flagship Killer” too will be getting a taste of Marshmallow sometime in the Q1 next year. For its onboard fingerprint sensor, the device maker will be including the new standard Marshmallow API in the same update. Now with a standardized API integration developer community will be able to make apps which will make use of OnePlus 2 fingerprint sensor. OnePlus X users might have to wait a bit longer as company is yet to announce any time frame for the newest kid on the block.
