OnePlus has announced a new Sandstone color option for its reigning flagship killer, OnePlus 5T. The white variant joins the existing Lava Red, Star War Edition, and the midnight black color options of which the last two are available in India.
The base 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant won’t get Sandstone White finish, though. The OnePlus 5T Sandtone White will be available only in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model for $559 (roughly to INR 35,000) and it will go on sale in the US starting January 9. As of now, the India availability of sandstone white variant of OnePlus 5T is unclear.

The Sandstone white variant of 5T is similar to its Star War edition phone minus the Star Wars theme. It has a textured Sandstone back panel, red alert slider along with black volume rocker keys and power button.
How is the white sandstone finish attained on the metal back of OnePlus 5T?
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei explains on Company’s forums:
“We applied a blend of natural minerals and white oil paint, lending the device its stunning blend of white and grey tones and signature Sandstone feel. Finally, UV light is used to refine the texture of the phone and ensure hardness and durability,” Pei said.
OnePlus 5T Sandstone white variant will treat you with the same innards as the original 5T (8GB RAM variant). The phone sports a 6.01-inch full-HD + (1080×2160 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display with 18:9 screen aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and runs on Android Nougat-based Oxygen OS. In addition, there is a 3300mAh battery under the hood.
