OnePlus has released its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone in its native market. Known as the OnePlus 12, the handset features a large LTPO screen, has the most powerful chipset on an Android phone, comes with three rear-facing cameras, and a massive battery that should last for over a day of usage. Here’s everything you need to know about the OnePlus 12, its design, specifications, price, and availability.

OnePlus 12 Design

As we mentioned in our leaked renders report, the OnePlus 12 is available in three colors: green, black, and white. The smartphone has a bezel-less display on the front, with a punch-hole cutout and a large, circular camera cutout on the rear panel. The camera module is more prominent than it was on the OnePlus 11.

OnePlus 12 Specifications

The OnePlus 12 has a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Thanks to LTPO technology, the screen can switch refresh rates between 1Hz and 120Hz, depending upon the content on the display. The screen also has a resolution of 510 pixels per inch and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 12 runs on Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, based on TSMC’s second-generation 4nm fabrication technology. The chipset has a prime core clocked at 3.3GHz and an Adreno 750 graphics processor. Along with the capable chipset, the handset also features up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Besides the processor, the OnePlus 12 has a triple camera setup, including a 50MP (f/1.6, 23mm) primary sensor, a 48MP (f/2.2, 14mm) ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP (f/2.6, 70mm) periscope telephoto lens for up to 3x optical zoom. The Hasselblad partnership remains in place, so the camera cutout has the company’s branding. Users can also record 8K videos in 24 frames per second and 4K videos in up to 60 frames per second.

OnePlus 12 Expected to Globally Debut in India on January 23rd

The front camera on the smartphone is a 32MP (f/2.4, 21mm) selfie shooter, which can only record videos in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. Apart from the cameras, the OnePlus 12 features a 5,400 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging.

Connectivity options on the OnePlus 12 include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, USB Type-C 3.2, and NFC. Other phone features include an under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, Hasselblad color calibration, and an IP65 water resistance rating. Last but not least, the smartphone would run on ColorOS 14, based on Android 14. Globally, the operating system should be called OxygenOS 14.

OnePlus 12 Price

The OnePlus 12 costs CNY 4,299 (about Rs. 50,700) for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Then there’s a variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which costs CNY 4,799 (about Rs. 56,600). The top-tier OnePlus 12 comes with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, costing CNY 5,799 (about Rs. 68,400). The phone should be released globally in January 2024, around the 23 or 24th of the month.
