OnePlus 11 confirmed to arrive with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset: Might get an early 2023 launch

OnePlus has been in the news for a while now for its next flagship number series. Although leaks had been pouring in, now the company has made it official that the OnePlus 11 will be powered by the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The chipset will launch at Qualcomm’s Summit in Hawaii and is expected to come with various upgrades for faster and better performance.

The company shared a teaser image that has the name ‘OnePlus 11’ on the Weibo app. The photo has some text in Chinese which can be translated to “OnePlus 11 will be the first to be equipped with the second generation Snapdragon 8 Mobile platform and the first mobile ray tracing open platform is launched.” The use of ray tracing is the next big thing for every smartphone maker as it will improve the visuals of high-end graphics in games. Qualcomm is the first to bring this to smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

Joining OnePlus in offering flagship phones for the next year are brands like Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo, iQOO, Realme, Nubia, Honor, Sony, and more.

The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The camera setup might include a 50MP main, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 32MP telephoto sensor. There might be a 32MP selfie camera at the front. In terms of RAM and ROM, the OnePlus 11 may get up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. It is said to run Android 13-based Oxygen OS 13 and pack a 5000mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

These specs are expected to get confirmed as the launch date gets announced.
