Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition Launching on October 30; Specs, and Features

The Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition is set to launch on October 30th at 4:30 PM IST. This project marks an industry-first co-creation effort, empowering the community to shape the smartphone’s design and software. It reimagines the original Nothing Phone (2a) with unique design elements.

The hardware design, crafted by Kenta Akasaki and Astrid Vanhuyse, brings a glow-in-the-dark feature with a striking green color scheme.

Andrés Mateos, the winner of the wallpaper design stage, took inspiration from transparent objects and the Nothing ecosystem, including the brand’s earphones. 

Ian Henry Simonds designed the packaging, giving the box a distinctive look that features the “Phone (2a)” branding.

Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition Specs

The specifications of the Community Edition remain the same as the standard Nothing Phone (2a). It’ll feature a 6.7” OLED display with a 1080 x 2412 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, HBM brightness of 1100 nits, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. The device will be powered by the Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC.

For the cameras, it will include a 50 MP f/1.6 primary sensor and a 50 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor. On the front, there would be a 32 MP f/2.2 camera. The device will pack a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
