TL; DR
- Logitech has launched its first-ever mouse with a built-in palm cushion in India.
- The M850 L is priced at ₹7,762 and the M840 L at ₹6,468.
- Both models offer silent clicks, SmartWheel scrolling, and Easy-Switch for up to three devices.
When asked about the difference between the MX line and the new devices, Logitech’s head of marketing and category, Roopak Krishnan, explained that the 850L sits at the top of the Comfort line and features a palm cushion for added comfort. At the same time, the MX series is the company’s top-tier flagship. That is also reflected in the price of the 850L, which costs around half of what the MX Master 4 costs in India.
By doing this, Logitech is essentially bringing high-end, precise, and more comfortable input devices to a more accessible price point, which naturally opens the door to an entirely new category, one that could drive meaningful sales for the company. Roopak also highlighted how the company recognizes the evolving dynamics of people’s hybrid lifestyles, blurring the line between work and leisure at home.

People are using the same workstation setup for both, which is also why they’re willing to spend more on their core devices to get a better, more comfortable experience.
We also discussed the ongoing component shortage and how it’s affecting companies that manufacture devices for end consumers, and how they’re passing higher manufacturing costs to buyers these days.
While Logitech has revised the prices of its enterprise and gaming portfolio, it is still absorbing the increase in component costs for the consumer lineup, which includes the MX Master 4 Ergonomic Wireless Mouse, the MX keyboards, and even the newly launched 850L and 840L.

In the future, the company plans to add a couple of new keyboards to its Comfort line as well, which could bring the ergonomics and tactile feel of the MX series to a more affordable price point.
