TL; DR
  • A leaked Galaxy Glasses Manager app has revealed several features planned for Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses.
  • The app includes options for camera controls, AI assistants, notification playback, and automatic media syncing.
  • References to Galaxy Watch controls and Galaxy Ring gesture support have also been spotted.

Samsung’s first smart glasses are still yet to launch, but a leaked companion app has already revealed several details about how the device could work. The leak comes from SammyGuru, which managed to access the upcoming Galaxy Glasses Manager app. The app appears to handle everything from initial setup to feature management and software updates.

Screenshots from the app also show the smart glasses themselves alongside their charging case. The model shown in the app appears to be Samsung’s previously rumored Warby Parker collaboration.

Galaxy Glasses will be managed through a dedicated app

Like Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches, Samsung’s smart glasses will rely on a dedicated companion app on smartphones.

During setup, users will need to place the glasses into pairing mode and grant the required permissions before completing the connection process.

Once paired, the app provides access to several functions, including:

  • Camera settings
  • AI assistant options
  • Notification readout settings
  • Accessibility features
  • Advanced settings
  • Find my glasses

The app also includes an option to automatically transfer photos and videos captured using the glasses directly to a connected smartphone.

Samsung is expected to ship the wearable with One UI XR, its Android XR-based software platform developed alongside Google and Qualcomm.

Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring could work with the glasses

References discovered inside the app indicate that Galaxy Watches may get a dedicated Galaxy Glasses Controller application, allowing users to interact with the glasses directly from their wrist. Code strings related to the Galaxy Ring were also spotted, suggesting support for gesture-based controls.

Samsung has already confirmed Galaxy Glasses are coming soon. The company is widely expected to showcase more details at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London, although a full launch may happen later this year.
