Nothing Phones in 2025: Details

Nothing Phones have been identified with the codenames asteroids, asteroids_plus, and galaga, suggesting three confirmed launches scheduled for 2025. The upcoming Nothing OS 3.0, which is based on Android 15, has led to benchmark leaks indicating that these codenames correspond to the Nothing Phone 3a (asteroids), Nothing Phone 3a Plus (asteroids_plus), and CMF Phone 2 (galaga).

The leaks suggest that the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Plus will utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, representing a transition from the previously used MediaTek chipsets. In contrast, the CMF Phone 2 is expected to continue using a MediaTek SoC.

In addition to the system-on-chip (SoC) information, there are hints about the camera specifications suggesting that the Phone 3a will feature a telephoto sensor on the rear. Meanwhile, the 3a Plus may include a periscope zoom sensor. If these details are accurate, the Nothing Phone 3a Plus will be the inaugural model in Nothing’s range to incorporate a dedicated optical zoom sensor, as earlier Nothing smartphones were equipped solely with wide and ultrawide camera configurations.

An additional update pertains to e-SIM support. The Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Plus will be the company’s inaugural models to feature e-SIM capability. Customers will have the option to utilize either two physical SIM cards or a combination of an e-SIM and a physical nano-SIM for dual SIM setups. In contrast, the CMF Phone 2 will not offer this functionality and will continue to rely solely on physical SIM cards.

On the rear, it is expected to support 4K video recording at 60fps, along with slow-motion capabilities at 480fps in 1080p, and additional modes such as Super Macro, Super EIS, and Super Night Modes.
