Nokia 6.1 Plus will retail exclusively on Flipkart In India

Ahead of its August 21 launch in India, HMD Global has announced its upcoming smartphone, widely recognized as Nokia 6.1 Plus as a Flipkart exclusive. A video advertisement featuring musicians Shankar, Ehsaan, and Loy has been released by the e-commerce giant, marking preparations for Nokia 6.1 Plus launch. The video, however, does not mention the phone’s name.

Nokia 6.1 Plus is regarded as the Global variant for China launched Nokia X6. Like all leading smartphones in the market, the new Nokia 6.1 Plus will be Google’s Android One program participant and will, therefore, receive timely software updates.

Nokia 6.1 Plus Features

Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2280) screen, and 2.5 D Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. A notched display implies 19:9 aspect ratio. This dual-SIM phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone features an Octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC +  4GB RAM combination, along with 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB). A 3060 mAh battery is the fuel center for this phone, assisted by Quick Charge 3.0 (18W) that promises 50 percent charge delivery in a span of 30 minutes. A dedicated fingerprint sensor is situated on the rear panel, and the phone also supports Face Unlock.

Optic specifications like vertically aligned 16MP primary sensor + 5MP auxiliary monochrome sensor, sporting f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixels for the rear camera and 16MP with f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor for the front camera feature on Nokia 6.1 Plus. Supporting features like AI powered optimised colour contrast, depth of field and portrait lighting effects, face recognition, and HDR support are present for improved photography. Nokia 6.1 Plus introduces a unique Bothie feature lets users employ both front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Connectivity on board comprises 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on Nokia 6.1 Plus include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. Nokia 6.1 Plus will measure 147.2×70.98×7.99mm, and weighs 151 grams.

Nokia 6.1 Plus Price in India

So far, the Nokia 6.1 Plus has been launched only in Hong Kong, when talking about international markets. The phone has been priced at HKD 2,288, which will roughly convert to Rs. 20,100. Therefore, one can expect Nokia 6.1 Plus to be priced around the same for Indian markets.
