HMD Global, the new home of Nokia phones, launched an upgraded Nokia 5 with more memory in India. The phone will be available for sale from today, past midnight, on the e-commerce website Flipkart.
Nokia 5 with 2GB RAM was launched by the Finnish company, earlier this year, along with the popular Nokia 3 and Nokia 6. The new variant of Nokia 5 packs 3GB RAM and will see some performance enhancements.

To refresh your memory, the Nokia 5 is a compact, metal-build phone with a 5.2-inch HD (1280 × 720p) display that’s powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset paired 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone houses a 3,000mAh and sports a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.
For photography, there is a 13MP autofocus rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash and an 8MP autofocus front-facing camera – each with f/2.0 aperture.
Just like other Nokia phones, this will too run on stock-Android Nougat out of the box with a promised OTA update to Android Oreo in coming months. In terms of connectivity, Nokia 5 includes dual-sim 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB 2.0, USB OTG, 3.5mm, and NFC.

The all-metal Nokia 5 with 3GB RAM will be available in India in two color options: Matte Black and Tempered Blue, and has been priced at Rs 13,499. For the first week, the phone will be Flipkart exclusive and from then on, i.e. November 14 onwards, the phone will sell in the offline market too.
