Motorola Edge 40 Design and Display

The Motorola Edge 40 boasts a sleek design with a sandblasted aluminum frame, exuding a premium look and feel. The smartphone features curved sides and offers two rear panel options—vegan leather or matte acrylic. With a thickness of either 7.58mm (Acrylic) or 7.49mm (Leather), and weighing only 171 grams (Leather) or 167 grams (Acrylic), the Edge 40 is impressively lightweight and thin.

Moreover, the device comes with IP68 water and dust resistance, making it the thinnest smartphone in the world to possess an IP68 protection rating. The Edge 40 showcases a 6.55-inch curved pOLED display, offering a remarkable 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1200nits of peak brightness, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and Full HD+ resolution.

Motorola Edge 40 Chipset and Camera

Under the hood, the Edge 40 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Notably, this model is the first to feature this particular chipset. The device is fueled by a 4,400mAh battery and supports 68W TurboPower fast charging, as well as 15W wireless charging. Additional notable features include the Android 13 OS, stereo speakers, 3 microphones, Dolby Atmos support, NFC, and even 5W reverse charging.

The rear of the Edge 40 houses a dual camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, Quad Pixel Technology, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support. Alongside this, there is a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view, f/2.2 aperture, macro support, and LED flash. For selfie enthusiasts, it features a 32-megapixel selfie shooter with a f/2.4 aperture and Quad Pixel Technology.

Motorola Edge 40 Pricing, Availability, and Colors

The Motorola Edge 40 is available in multiple color variants, including Eclipse Black with an acrylic back, Nebula Green, and Lunar Blue with vegan leather rear panels. The device is offered in a single storage configuration, priced at INR 29,999. Notably, Flipkart is offering an additional charge of Rs 59 for secure packaging, bringing the retail price of the Motorola Edge 40 to Rs 30,058.

Currently, the device is available for pre-order through Flipkart and will go on sale on May 30, available on the e-commerce platform, the official Motorola website, and other offline retailers. The company is also offering various incentives, such as up to INR 2,000 discount on exchange, no-cost EMI options for HDFC, SBI, ICICI, and Axis bank cardholders, as well as a one-time screen replacement worth INR 9,500 for those who pre-order the device before May 3.
