Motorola Edge 40 launching in India on May 23: Read on to know more

Motorola recently launched the next in its Edge Series, the Moto Edge 40 in global markets. Now, the smartphone is confirmed to arrive in India this month. Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 40 smartphone will launch in India on May 23. It is the successor to the Moto Edge 30 that came out last year. The Motorola Edge 40 is claimed to be the “world’s slimmest IP68-rated 5G smartphone”. Read on to know more.

Motorola Edge 40: Expected Price

The global price of Moto Edge 40 is EURO 599.99 which is approximately Rs. 54,200. However, the Indian price is expected to be under Rs. 40,000.

Its Twitter handle of Motorola has confirmed the India launch date and also revealed that the smartphone will retail via Flipkart. The launch event will stream live on YouTube.

Motorola Edge 40: Specs

Since the global launch has already taken place, we know almost everything about the specs of the device. The Moto Edge 40 will sport a 6.55-inch 3D curved p-OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits peak brightness. It will also support HDR10+, and DCI-P3 color gamut, and have an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will have an aluminum chassis with a premium vegan leather back.

The slimmest smartphone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. In terms of camera optics, the device will feature a dual camera setup at the back including a 50MP primary shooter with OIS, and 13MP ultrawide lens that also doubles as a macro camera. At the front is a 32MP selfie camera. The highlighting camera features include 360-degree Horizon Stabilization Lock and Ultra Pixel technology.

The connectivity options include 15 high-speed 5G bands, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 3.0, dual stereo speakers, Think Shield, and Dolby Atmos. It packs a 4400mAh battery under the hood with 68W wired Turbo Charge support and 15W wireless charging support.

The Moto Edge 40 is expected to arrive in Eclipse Black, Nebula Green, and Lunar Blue shades.
