Motorola Launches Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play In India: Specs, Price and Availablity

Lenovo backed Motorola has launched the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus in India at the media event in Delhi. With today’s launch, Motorola has finally managed to open its launch account in 2018. The Moto G6 family comes with a new ached glass back design and few enhancements in the camera department.

Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play India Price and Availability

As per the launch announcement, the Moto G6 to retail on exclusive on Amazon India, while the Moto G6 Play will feature on Flipkart exclusively. Motorola will hold the first sale of the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play online sale starts on from Wednesday itself, starting 11:59 pm IST.

The Moto G6 India price starts from Rs. 13,999, while the Moto G6 Play base variant will come for Rs 11,999. At the launch event, Motorola also announced a handful of launch offers for Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play initial sale:

Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play Features

The Moto G6 is the more premium device in among these two. The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch IPS screen with full-HD+ resolution and trendy 18:9 aspect ratio. Unlike its predecessor which was powered by Snapdragon 600 series chipset, the Moto G6 rocks a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU. The phone runs on a stock-ish Android 8.0 Oreo software and supports dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) functionality. Moto has added a fingerprint sensor just below the display in this device.

The Moto G6 features a dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel with f/1.8 and f/2.2 aperture. It also packs a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The phone comes with two storage and memory options: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage option. It also supports storage expansion up to 128GB via microSD cards.

The Moto G6 supports 4G LTE, WI-Fi, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm earphone jack, the standard sensors, and Bluetooth 4.2. It is packed with a 3000mAh battery with TurboCharge support. The Moto G6 will be available in Indigo and Silver hues.

The Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, also packs houses a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio but here Moto has cut down the number of pixels to HD+ (720×1440 pixel) resolution. The G6 Play is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 mobile processor with Adreno 505 GPU. The phone comes with moto dimple on the back which has a fingerprint sensor embedded on it.

The biggest highlight of the Moto G6 Play is its massive 4,000mAh battery which supports Turbo Charge. The phone comes in 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage version, and also support microSD card up to 128GB.

The Moto G6 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture on the front. Both front and back cameras are equipped with flash.
