vivo has officially unveiled OriginOS 7, its latest Android skin based on Android 17. The update brings a substantial visual refresh, with translucent materials, dynamic lighting and more customization across the interface.
A big part of the redesign revolves around what vivo calls its dynamic translucent material. Interface elements can change their appearance depending on the background, while the system can automatically increase contrast in certain areas to keep text readable. Users can also switch between three different visual treatments: Natural, Transparent and Soft.
A More Dynamic Interface
OriginOS 7 adds Dynamic Light Effects throughout the interface. Tapping a button creates a light effect that spreads outward like ripples in water, while scrolling makes the lighting follow your finger. Even elements such as progress bars get their own lighting animations.
The lock screen also gets a more personalized treatment. Liquid Themes add moving visual effects, while users can turn their own photos into customized dynamic wallpapers. There are also Flash Card Themes, which react to how the phone moves, and new dynamic effects that put more animation directly onto the lock screen.
vivo has also added a new Atomic Sticker Library, letting users drag and drop stickers onto the Home Screen and lock screen for further customization.
The visual changes extend to system interactions as well. OriginOS 7 improves system haptics by matching vibration effects more closely with what is happening on screen. vivo also claims its Game Eye Protection feature improves visual comfort by 29%.
More System Improvements
OriginOS 7 also brings dual-path directional audio, which can play audio through the phone and connected Bluetooth devices simultaneously without interrupting the video or music.
The Blue Sea endurance system adds longer-term usage and charging predictions, giving users more information about expected battery life and charging time. vivo is also claiming up to an 11% improvement in image creation through its intelligent scene adjustment system.
Accessibility gets an upgrade as well, with additional support for screen reading and voice-based controls.
OriginOS 7 Global Beta and Rollout

The global beta registration has now started for the iQOO 15 and vivo X300 Pro. Users can sign up through the Upcoming Updates section on their phones, with registration currently scheduled to remain open until September 20 at 8:30 PM IST. There are 500 slots available for each device.

The wider OriginOS 7 rollout starts on October 9, with devices including the vivo X Fold6, X Fold5, X300 Ultra, X300 Pro, X300 and several iQOO models in the first wave. More devices will follow on October 29, with additional vivo and iQOO phones scheduled through November, December and January 2027.
OriginOS 7 is shaping up as one of vivo’s biggest visual changes yet, with the new translucent materials, dynamic lighting and customization features forming the core of the update.
