If the rumors circulating in the gossip world are deemed to be true, Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi is looking to up the ante with not one but two smartphones announcements at is scheduled 19th April event (confirmed for just the Mi 6 for now, but grapevine suggests otherwise).

The successor to the original Mi Max smartphone from Xiaomi’s artillery, the Mi Max 2 has emerged in its full glory, courtesy some leaked press renders that have stemmed the theories that it may actually be launched alongside the Mi 6 (again, not confirmed).

The renders depict the phone fully, which appears to be fully metal-clad and has been shown in gold color.

On the back, the images proclaim a rear camera with dual LED flashes on the top left side, coming in with a fingerprint scanner just below it. An infrared port gives the 3.5mm jack company on the top, while a USB Type-C port has been placed alongside a grille of speaker holes at the bottom.

As we told you before, the Mi Max 2 is expected to feature the same 6.4-inch display size as its predecessor with the same resolution, too.

Other than that, it will, in all likelihood, come out featuring the very latest Android 7.1.1 OS, and have a still larger 5,000mAh battery (as compared to the original one) powering it. The optics being talked about are a 12MP one on the back, followed by a 5MP selfie snapper.

Furthermore, there are talks of the phone being brought out into the market containing two different chipsets (Snapdragon 625 and 660), and hence catering to different price ranges (Rs. 14,013 and Rs 15,883 respectively).

Users will also get a choice on the basis of the ROM (64GB and 128GB) as well as the RAM (4GB and 6GB) they prefer.

Well, if indeed the deemed schedule of the tentative launch date is on point, we may very well see two flagships coming out on the same day.
