Who will carry forward OnePlus 3 series legacy has been part of speculations for some time and seems that prolong debate is coming to an end. The next flagship Killer will be named OnePlus 5, at least as per the Chinse Radio Regulation site.
As per the new information that has popped online, the alleged OnePlus 5 with model number A5000 reached Radio Regulators in China. Even though this nowhere validate that the upcoming phone will be OnePlus 5 but if you look back at the OnePlus 3 and 3T model numbers (A3000 and A3010), it seems logical to presume next phone will be the OnePlus 5.
Apart from its name, the specifications of the phone showed up on several occasions in the recent past. If these speculations are to be believed, the OnePlus 5 (model number A5000) is expected to boast 6GB of RAM (some even suggest 8GB RAM). The phone is likely to pack Qualcomm’s latest processor – Snapdragon 835 SoC.
The only thing that wasn’t top notch in OnePlus 3 and 3T were their displays. OnePlus seems to have taken the critical feedback seriously and the OnePlus 5 is going to come with a better 5.5-inch display that’s likely to sport 2K resolution.
The phone may embrace dual camera trend. As of now, rumors suggest it will be featuring a 23-megapixel camera at the back, while there will be a 16-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. Perhaps there will be no difference at least in terms of the front camera set-up when compared to the previously launched OnePlus 3T. Furthermore, a few rumors suggest that the OnePlus 5 will house a 4000mAh battery along with Dash Charge fast charging support.
Since all the information stated above is based on rumors, we have to take it with a grain of salt till the official confirmation is pending. The OnePlus 5 official launch is expected to be scheduled in Q2, 2017.
