Google And Samsung Could Release Several New AI-Based Features

In a post on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Rick Osterloh, SVP of Platforms & Devices at Google, writes about having a terrific conversation with TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung. “Our partnership has never been stronger. I’m thrilled about our collaboration on AI and the many opportunities ahead of both companies,” says Osterloh.

Given that both companies are working toward new AI-based experiences for Galaxy and Pixel owners, we should see some new features really soon. In fact, Google could announce some of the new features at the upcoming I/O event, where the company will reveal Android 15

As the Pixel maker announces these features, they could be available on supported Galaxy devices with a One UI update based on Android 15. Further, Google made an appearance earlier this year at the Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company mentioned that Gemini AI models will power several AI capabilities in the next generation of Samsung’s app and services.

Samsung’s Smarter Notes, Keyboard, and Voice Recorder also use Google’s Gemini Pro. The Galaxy S24’s Generative Edit feature relies on Google’s Imagen 2 text-to-image generator. Moreover, both companies work hand-in-hand, benefiting from each other’s expertise.
