Last month, Google confirmed the date for its annual I/O 2024 to be May 14, 2024. Now a few weeks before the event, Google has released the session schedule for the I/O 2024. The comprehensive session schedule includes loads of software updates that will be announced by Google along with some hardware rollouts as well. The I/O 2024 will include 150+ sessions and learning content that also includes the “What’s New” segment. The focus will majorly be on four areas-
- Mobile
- Web
- AI/ML
- Cloud
The Google keynote will begin at 10:AM PT for two hours followed by all these sessions that will last for a day.

Google I/O 2024: Expected Hardware launches
Google Pixel 8a

Historically, Google has been launching the Pixel-A series devices during I/O every year. The same is expected to continue this time as Google Pixel 8a is tipped to go official on May 14. Based on leaks, Pixel 8a will have the same pixel design and sport a 64MP camera at the back along with a 13MP wide-angle sensor. The device is expected to be powered by Tensor G3 chipset and features a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate. It will have up to 256GB storage and 8GB RAM along with a 4500mAh battery under the hood. The smartphone is said to be priced at around 550 USD.
Google Pixel Fold 2

The second generation foldable Google Pixel Fold 2 might also be announced at the I/O 2024. Reports claim Pixel Fold 2 will get a new name Pixel 9 Pro Fold and go official in October with the Pixel 9 Series. It is said to arrive with a Tensor G4 chipset and feature 16GB RAM. It will come with AI capabilities as well.
Earlier some reports tipped about Google showcasing 3rd generation Google Pixel Watch 3 during I/O 2024, but in actuality, it seems unlikely as there have been no developments on this front.
