About four months after the Z50, Lava has again made a comeback with the release of its second Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone labeled as Z61 in India. With this, the Z-series total adds up to six.
A noteworthy feature of the Z61 is its ‘Sharp Click’ technology that, as per Lava’s claims, will capture even the minutest of details from the camera. The phone also has a ‘Language’ shortcut on its home screen that allows users to switch between different interface language options.
Further, it allows its users to read the SMS in their language of choice. The smartphone is available in Black and Golden color options and is being distributed by more than 80,000 retail outlets in India.
Lava Z61 Features
The Z61 will run different OS for different variants. The 1GB RAM variant will run Android Oreo (Go edition), while the 2GB variant will e supported by Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, that will draw power from a 3,000mAh battery unit. Lava claims that the battery will last up to 1.5 posts single charging session. The company stated that the phone’s battery is “supported with AI technology” that keeps a tab on the power consumption and shuts down background apps that the user has not launched for a while.

The handset will sport a 5.45-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. On optical front, the Z61 has an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera with LED flashlight and ‘improved’ Bokeh Mode assisting both the cameras.
Lava Z61 Price and Launch Offers
Lava Z61 has been priced at Rs. 5,750. The launch of 2GB RAM variant of Z61 variant with 2GB RAM launch has been scheduled for August, this year. However, there is no official confirmation on the price of this variant.

- Free one-time screen replacement for purchases made on or before September 30, 2018.
- Rs 2,200 cashback split into 44 cashback vouchers of Rs. 50 each. This voucher will be applicable on recharge of Rs. 198 or Rs. 299 for Jio numbers. These vouchers will be maintained by MyJio app, and is applicable for both existing and new Jio users.
