TL; DR
  • vivo V80 will launch in India in the first week of October.
  • It could introduce 10X zoom in Portrait mode to vivo’s V series.
  • A 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with 3X portrait support is also expected.
  • The phone will also feature 4K Cinematic Video with built-in color grading and three movie styles.

vivo is preparing to bring the V80 to India in the first week of October, and we have exclusively learned about several camera features coming with the phone. The V80 is being positioned around content creation, with features that have previously been exclusive to vivo’s higher-end X series.

vivo V80 Camera Features

The V80 will feature a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom support. The bigger addition is perhaps the 10X zoom in Portrait mode, which will let users capture portraits from a greater distance. This would be a first for the V series and the first time vivo has introduced the feature on one of its phones.

4K Cinematic Video is the other camera feature vivo is expected to drop onto the V80. While you record, the phone can blur the background and apply color grading in the camera app itself. Users will get three movie styles: Modern Movie, Vibrant, and Pastel. This is similar to what we’ve already seen on the more premium X series, and it’s now making its way to the V series with the V80.

vivo V80 Expected Specifications

According to current leaks, the V80 could have a 6.59-inch 144Hz display and a 7,200 mAh battery. A ZEISS triple-camera setup is also expected, along with an IP69 rating.

The phone should run the latest OriginOS software, although vivo has yet to confirm if it’s OriginOS 6 or OriginOS 7.

vivo V80 India Launch

As mentioned previously, our source indicates that the vivo V80 will launch in India during the first week of October. More details, including the exact launch date and pricing, should emerge closer to October.
