Itel P55 And P55+ With 6.6-inch Screen, Octa-Core Processor, And 5,000 mAh Battery Launched

Itel’s two new budget smartphones, the P55 and P55+, come with a decent design, a long-lasting 5,000 mAh battery, and a large 90Hz screen for consuming content. Users can choose from three models, all of which are priced below Rs. 10,000.

Both smartphones have a punch-hole design at the front with a slightly thicker chin at the bottom. However, while the P55 has three circular cutouts on the rear panel (one of which houses the flash) in a square island, the P55+ houses two separate camera sensors in circular cutouts, aligned vertically.

The Itel P55 comes in Brilliant Gold, Aurora Blue, and Moonlit Black colors. The Itel P55+ comes in Meteor Black and Royal Green (with vegan leather finish) colorways.

Both handsets feature a large 6.6-inch HD+ screen that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen also houses a Dynamic Bar at the top, enabling users to quickly access apps or functions running in the background. Under the hood, both phones run on the Unisoc T606 SoC, an octa-core chipset.

The Itel P55 comes in two memory options: 4GB and 8GB. Both support virtual memory expansion, which adds an additional 8GB of RAM. Further, these models ship with 128GB of UFS 202 storage. The Itel P55+, on the other hand, ships with 8GB of physical RAM, which can be increased up to 16GB using virtual RAM. This model has 256GB of internal storage. Both Itel P55 and P55+ support microSD card.

The budget smartphones feature a 50MP primary camera and a secondary camera. On the front, users get an 8MP selfie shooter. While both phones feature a 5,000 mAh battery cell, the Itel P55 supports 18W charging, while the P55+ supports 45W charging. Interestingly, the Plus model features three charging modes: low-temperature charging, hypercharge, and AI-based smart charging.

Another feature that’s exclusive to the Plus variant is the fingerprint reader. Connectivity options on the smartphones include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, and a USB-C port. The Itel P55+ also features NFC. Moreover, the plus variant offers advantages over the regular model, justifying the price increase.

The base P55 with 4GB of RAM costs Rs. 7,499. Interested buyers can also avail of an additional Rs. 500 bank discount. Further, P55 with 8GB of physical RAM will cost Rs. 8,999 in the offline market. The P55+ will cost Rs. 9,999, but with the bank offer, customers can get it at Rs. 9,499.

The smartphones will be available to purchase on Amazon starting at noon on February 13, 2024.
