Huawei Honor 5A Goes Official In China

Huawei’s sub-brand has launched its Honor Play 5A in mainland China. The budget series smartphone is the heir of last year’s Honor 4A and was introduced at a press event held in the capital city Beijing. The company has targeted this new smartphone towards youth. The Honor 5A comes in two variants: Kirin and Snapdragon variant.

In terms of specification, the newborn Honor 5A comes fitted with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display running a resolution of 720x 1280 pixels. It comes with 1000:1 contrast ratio and Gorilla Glass protection to keep scratches at bay. Honor has sourced a 1.2GHz Kirin 620/ 1.5GHz Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core chipset for 5A. It comes with Mali 450/Adreno 405GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage with microSD card support up to 128GB. The dual SIM smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow based Emotion UI 4.1 out of the box.

Honor 5A launch in India

For shutterbugs, it bears 13-megapixel primary camera with LED Flash, Sony/OmniVision sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm wide-angle lens. On the front, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with Sony/Hynix BSI sensor, and f/2.0 aperture, 27mm wide-angle 4P lens.

It is backed by a 3100mAh polymer battery. The Honor 5A supports 4G, VoLTE, 3G, wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS as connectivity options. It will be available in black, white, blue and gold colors with price starting from 699 Yuan (approx. Rs 7,299). It will go on sale in China on June 17.
