TL; DR
  • HP OmniPad 12 goes on sale in India starting at ₹48,999 for the 128GB variant.
  • Comes bundled with a year of GPT-5, Claude 4, Gemini 2.5, and other AI subscriptions.
  • Features a 12-inch 90Hz display, detachable keyboard, and an 18-hour rated battery life.

HP unveiled its first tablet in May, and it took the company around two months to release it. The OmniPad 12 is finally on sale in India. As HP says, it’s engineered specifically around Indian users, whether they’re students, MSMEs, or first-time digital users.

HP OmniPad 12: Pricing & Availability

The HP OmniPad 12 is available in Denim Blue and Meteor Silver. Interested buyers can get it through HP’s online store and most of the leading online retailers like Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, Croma, Vijay Sales, and HP World stores.

  • HP OmniPad 12 (8GB + 128GB): ₹48,999
  • HP OmniPad 12 (8GB + 256GB): ₹54,999

Buyers get a one-year warranty covering parts and labor. There is also a ₹5,000 instant cashback on eligible SBI and HDFC Bank credit cards valid until August 20. In the box, you get the HP OmniPad 12 tablet, the detachable keyboard cover, a 33W USB Type-C adapter, a cable, and a quick start guide.

HP OmniPad 12: Key Features & Specifications

First and foremost, the OmniPad 12 features a 12-inch 2K display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness across a 16:10 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the tablet runs on a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SM6475Q chip, which is closely related to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.

The chip is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Besides the fixed built-in storage options, you also get expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD. As mentioned earlier, HP bundles a detachable keyboard for 2-in-1 use in the box. You also get quad speakers tuned with DTS Ultra (for watching content), dual high-SNR microphones (for attending calls on the go), and an 8MP front camera for video conferencing.

A 31Wh battery is rated for up to 18 hours of use. Finally, it also ships preloaded with education-focused apps like iPrep and Lexillion. However, in my opinion, the bundled year-long access to a variety of chatbots like GPT-5, Claude 4, Gemini 2.5, Perplexity, Grok 4, and DeepSeek, which is valued at ₹96,000 (more than the tablet’s retail pricing), is the more unusual and appealing part of this launch.

I’ve seen companies providing a year’s worth of subscription for one AI model, but HP goes all in on the AI freebie strategy. Though how much of that ₹96,000 figure reflects real-world usage value versus marketing math is worth taking with a grain of salt.
