Google Pixel Fold Design Shows Big Bezels
Leakster Kuba Wojciechowski posted a video featuring a Google Pixel Fold unit. The short video shows Fold from various angles when it is folded and unfolded. One of the things that stick out is the size of the bezels onboard Pixel Fold. Yep, the video shows thick bezels on the side and a smaller form factor, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series.
It actually gives vibes of using a Microsoft Surface Duo albeit the difference is, Pixel Fold is using a foldable display instead of two separate ones. Apart from that, you will see curved edges and a punch-hole cutout on the primary and secondary displays alike. Google Pixel Fold Specifications (Rumored)
Talking about the specs, we have rumored specifications for the upcoming Google Pixel Fold.
There’s a 5.8” OLED cover display with 2092×1080 pixels and 408 ppi density sitting at the front. Unfold the device and you will see a foldable 7.6” OLED panel with a 6:5 aspect ratio, 2208×1840 pixels resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate on top. There’s an ultrathin glass layer on top of the foldable unit.
Google Pixel Fold is set to arrive with Tensor G2 SoC with a Titan M2 security chip. There’s LPDDR5 RAM onboard alongside up to 512GB of storage. On the optics end, you’ll see a triple camera setup at the back. It houses a 48MP primary with OIS, a 10.8MP ultrawide, and a 10.8MP telephoto shooter capable of 5x optical zoom. There’s a 9.5MP cam on the cover and an 8MP cam on the front display.
Google Pixel Fold Pricing and Availability
Google Pixel Fold will reportedly get two variants i.e. 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB priced at $1,799 and $1,919. Of course, Pixel Fold is on the expensive side of the price tag but it goes in line with the trends that other foldable devices follow.
According to Jon Prosser, the first teasers for Pixel Fold might make its debut on April 26 followed by debut and pre-orders on May 10. The pre-orders at Google’s partnered stores and carriers are set to be from May 30 while the shipping will begin on June 27.
