TL; DR

  • Z Fold7: Snapdragon 8 Elite globally, 12GB RAM, 256/512/1TB storage.
  • Z Flip7: Exynos 2500 in some regions, Snapdragon in others, 12GB RAM, 256/512GB storage, no 128GB option.
  • Prices are said to remain the same.

Samsung is set to unveil the Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 at the upcoming Unpacked Event in July or August 2025. Leaks have now confirmed major details, including chipsets, RAM, and storage options for both devices.

The Z Fold7 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite globally, despite earlier rumors of the Exynos 2500. This means no region will get an Exynos variant. It will come with 12 GB RAM and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. The design is expected to be similar to the Z Fold6 Special Edition, which was released only in Korea and China.

The Z Flip7, however, is rumored to have two chipset variants. Some markets, like Europe and Asia, are expected to get the Exynos 2500, while others, possibly including the US, may receive a Snapdragon-powered version. It will also come with 12 GB RAM, but only 256 GB or 512 GB storage, suggesting that 128 GB is being phased out.

It looks like Samsung is finally settling at 12 GB RAM, since the entire Galaxy S25 series also comes with 12 GB RAM, except for regions like Korea and China.

Surprisingly, no major battery upgrades have been rumored for either foldable. Other manufacturers, like OPPO, have already launched thinner designs, such as the Find N5, which is less than 4mm thick.

Meanwhile, the Z Fold7 is not expected to be that thin. Samsung, which once pioneered foldables, now appears to be playing it safe rather than pushing innovation.
