TL; DR
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 CAD based renders are here and it looks strikingly similar to the Z Flip6.
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 ups its screens to 3.6” outside, 6.8” inside, stays 9.1 mm thick with the bump—small steps from the Z Flip6.
  • Same 50 MP + 12 MP cameras, maybe better sensors, still $1,099, with a less obvious crease that’s not gone.

Galaxy Z Flip7 has been in rumors for a while now. Earlier, we saw a leak of the Galaxy Z Fold7, which is expected to be much thinner than the Z Fold6 while also featuring a larger display. Now, we have the first renders of the Z Flip7 (via Android Headlines x OnLeaks), and it’s time to take a closer look at what Samsung has changed this year.

Thinner, but Not as Much as You’d Hope

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is said to measure 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9 mm, which means it’s getting 3.3 mm wider and 1.5 mm taller than before. The thickness is the same as last year and once you factor in the camera bump, the thickness goes up to 9.1 mm.

Compared to the drastic changes on the Z Fold7, the changes here aren’t as extreme. But, it’s still a step in the right direction for a more pocket-friendly device. The Z Flip6 (review) measures 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm.

Slightly Bigger Displays

Samsung has bumped the cover display size from 3.4 inches to 3.6 inches, which also explains the increase in height and width. A small upgrade, but it does make a difference when using the phone without unfolding it.

That said, it’s still smaller than the Motorola Razr+ (Razr 50 Ultra), which has had a larger 4.0-inch cover screen for a while now. On the inside, the main display grows from 6.7 inches to 6.8 inches, making it ever so slightly larger than before.

Same Dual-Camera Setup, but Hopefully Better Sensors

The Z Flip7 retains the 50 MP main + 12 MP ultra-wide camera setup, just like the Z Flip6. However, Samsung might upgrade the sensors internally, which could lead to improved image quality. But without official details, it’s hard to say how much of a difference this will make.

Given Samsung’s recent moves, we are not expecting any upgrades to the Z Flip7’s cameras. Expect the main camera to be the same 50 MP 1/1.57-inch 23 mm f/1.8 lens with AF and OIS and the ultra-wide to be the 12 MP 1/3.2-inch 13 mm f/2.2 lens without AF.

Exynos or Snapdragon?

One big question is which chipset Samsung will use. There are conflicting reports about the Exynos 2500 being inside, but yield rate concerns could push Samsung to stick with a Snapdragon variant instead.

Expected Pricing

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to start at $1,099 or ₹1,09,999, keeping the same price as its predecessor. Given that Samsung didn’t raise prices for the Galaxy S25 series either, this is what we’re expecting. Samsung already had hiked the price of the Z Flip6 by $100 or ₹10,000 last year, and doing it again would not make sense, so yes.

Less Visible Crease, but Not Gone

Galaxy Z Flip7

Samsung is rumored to be making the crease less visible this year. It won’t disappear entirely, but it should be less distracting compared to the Z Flip6.

There is no word on the battery or the charging but we’re expecting Samsung to continue using the 4,000 mAh cell on the Flip6 paired with 25W “fast” charging. And yes, wireless charging too.

Overall, a Minor Upgrade

The Galaxy Z Flip7 isn’t a drastic redesign, it only refines key areas, making it wider, taller, slightly larger, and possibly better in terms of crease and that’s it. But with foldables evolving rapidly, the competition is fierce, and some might feel Samsung isn’t pushing the boundaries enough. Let’s see how it holds up once it’s officially announced.
