As the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s launch gets closer—just about five months away—popular Samsung critic Ice Universe has dropped an intriguing mock-up of the device, giving us a peek at what could be a major shift in design.
More Rounded Corners
Samsung has always favored rounded designs for the Galaxy S series, but things took a boxy turn with the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Note-ification of the S Ultra series.
That trend continued with the S23 Ultra but became even sharper and more rectangular with the S24 Ultra—a change that many fans, including Ice Universe, didn’t like.

Now, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung seems to be softening the edges again. The mock-ups suggest slightly rounded corners, although not as much as earlier models like the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The bezels appear to be thinner and more symmetrical, making the phone look sleek. However, the back of the phone might remain more rounded than the front, which could give the device a somewhat odd appearance.

Flat Display Stays
Like the S24 Ultra, the S25 Ultra seems to retain a completely flat display. This continues Samsung’s departure from the curved screens that defined the Galaxy S lineup for years up until the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Ice Universe has also shared side-by-side mock-up comparisons of the S25 Ultra with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The S25 Ultra’s bezels appear thinner than those on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, though it’s still boxier than Apple’s flagship.

Meanwhile, the recently launched Pixel 9 Pro takes the crown for the most rounded design, making the S25 Ultra the least rounded of the three.
So, what do you think? Should Samsung have gone for a more rounded design with the S25 Ultra, or are you liking the boxy design? Let us know.
