We finally have a foldable phone, and it’s not from Samsung or Huawei or any well-known brand for that matter. It is a brand called Royole which saw its inception by few Stanford Engineering Graduates in 2012. The company specialises in creating flexible displays and sensors. This foldable smartphone (cum Tablet !?) is the world’s first commercial smartphone to achieve this feat.

Flex Pai Features
Flex Pai features a large 7.8-inch display in tablet mode with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and 1920×1440 resolution. While using it in the folded mode, it transforms into a phone with three screens( primary, secondary and edge). The aspect ratio of the primary screen is 16:9 the resolution is 810×1440. The secondary comes in 18:9 aspect ratio and 720×1440 resolution while the edge has a resolution and aspect ratio of 390×1440 and 21:6 respectively. The two screens allow you to work and play simultaneously without causing any interruption to the other. The edge can be helpful in letting you know regarding the incoming calls or messages.
This new device is set to be powered by the next-gen Snapdragon 8 series Octa-core SoC which means that the phone should not face any hiccups with multitasking. The phone includes a RAM of 8GB and internal storage of 256GB which can be extended with a microSD card up to 256GB. Having a foldable display also means that a single camera module can function as both front and rear camera. It is a dual camera setup housing 16MP and 20 MP sensors with f/1.8 aperture. It supports features such as Optical Image Stabilisation and Auto Focus.

This Flex Pai can house two sims which support 4G simultaneously. It is powered by a 3800 mAh battery which can be charged by a 25W charger. The phone also features a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security unlock. It runs on the latest Android 9.0 based Water OS 1.0. The phone costs $1588 for the 128GB version and $1759 for the 256GB version.
