Fastest electric cars in India: These EV cars can reach up to 309km/hour

India is building of new infrastructure for EVs rapidly. This has fueled interest in electric vehicles in all the three-segment – two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and four-wheeler. There was a time when people often questioned if a car running on batteries will compete with ICE engine automobiles but now technology has done it. Modern electric cars are designed to gear for up to 309Kmph, what else one could ask for. 

We have here curated a list of the fastest electric cars in India with a brief description of them. The list includes electric cars from premium brands like Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, and even a startup Vazirani. Let’s explore them all.

1. Vazirani Ekonk

Indian-born Vazirani Automotive has designed an electric hypercar which is a low drag concept car expected to go for commercial sale soon. As the name ‘Ekonk’ suggests, it is a one-seater car with carbon-fiber body construction weighing just 738kg. The car can reach a top speed of 309kmph with an acceleration of 0-100kmph in just 2.54 seconds. It produces a power of 722bhp. 

2. Porsche Taycan

Porsche Taycan comes to deliver a top speed of 250kmph with an acceleration of 3.3 sec to gain from 0-100kmph. The battery plus configuration offers a claimed range of up to 452km per charge. It delivers a maximum power of 616bhp and a maximum torque of 500Nm. The Taycan is retailing in India at a starting price of INR 1,50,28,000.

3. Audi e-tron GT

The sporty sedan Audi e-tron GT speeds up to 245km/h offering a mileage of 500km on a single charge. The acceleration of the e-Tron GT is 4.1 seconds to reach 100kmph. It packs an 83.07kWh battery setup with fast charging capabilities. It retails from INR 1.79 crore in New Delhi.

4. Jaguar I-Pace

Coming from one of the premium brands, Jaguar I-Pace features a 90kWh motor power generating power of 394bhp and a torque of 696Nm. It reaches 100kmph in just 4.8 seconds and the top speed of the I-Pace is 200kmph. The commercial price of the car is INR 1.06 crore onwards. 

5. Mercedes-Benz EQC

Mercedes-Benz EQC sports an SUV design with claimed the top speed of 180km/h. It takes 5.1 seconds to reach a speed of 100km/h for zero. The car produces a total power of 300kW and a torque of 760Nm. The battery capacity is 85kWh with fast charging support. The ex-showroom price of Mercedes-Benz EQC is INR 1.07 crores.

6. Hyundai Kona

Hyundai Kona is the most affordable car on the list with a top speed of 155kmph. It packs a 39.2kWh battery pack with a charging efficiency of around 6 hours to refill the battery. The motor produces a power of 134bhp and a torque of 395Nm. The maximum distance range it offers is 452km on a single charge. It starts at ₹23,97,800 (ex-showroom) in New Delhi.
