In an attempt to cash in on the popularity of its V5 smartphone, the Chinese phone manufacturer Vivo has launched a lighter version of the same, namely the Vivo V5 Lite, that’s already listed online.
The V5 Lite is now the third variant of the smartphone joining the original V5 and the upcoming V5 Plus, which would be out in the market on 23rd January. The phone is listed on the site as ‘Coming Soon’ and is available in two colors – Crown Gold and Rose Gold.
Coming to the specifications, the V5 Lite is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor along with 3GB and is surrounded by a cocoon of 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 on top.

The phone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Funtouch 3.0 OS out of the box and has an in-built storage capacity of 32GB which can be extended to a maximum of 128GB.
The V5 Lite’s 16MP front camera overpowers the 13MP rear one and would appeal to selfie lovers as it comes along with various features, such as Soft Light Feature and Gender Detection.
Although the phone appears to be a tad lighter than both the V5 and the V5 Plus, it packs a 3,000 mAh battery and has a Smart Engine 2.0 battery management feature.
The company might showcase the handset alongside the Vivo V5 Plus next week, but since the handset has already been listed online, there are good chances that stocks have already reached offline retailers.
